Lake County Library District is pushing the Lake County Library’s move into the new building back to the fall.
Word was recently received that the timing of receipt of a substantial donation has been delayed. Additionally, funds are still being raised for furniture and computers, which also contributes to the delay.
“It’s a six to eight week lead time for library furniture, and we can’t turn in an order until we have money to pay for it.” said Amy Hutchinson, Library director. “We are working on a proposal to obtain the funds, and we should know better where we are with that by July.”
The Library Building Committee has raised about $2.5 million for the project, and the library financed $1.2 million, bringing the total funds committed to $3.63 million.
