Lorrine Ellen (Thompson) Cowdrey

Lorrine Ellen (Thompson) Cowdrey, 62,  died at the St. Charles Medical Center in Bend on Friday, July 29, 2011 .
Lorrine was born to Jack and Betty Thompson in Lakeview on Feb. 24, 1949.
Along with being a mother and home maker, she also found time to hold various jobs which included being a ranch cook and waitress/cook in a number of cafes.
She enjoyed being a volunteer helper with food share. She was a member of the Lakeview Eagle’s Lodge and was always there to help out with different projects and fund raisers. This year she was serving as chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting, knitting and collecting cook books. Lorrine’s major source of joy came from her grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Leo and Ellen Wheelock; parents Jack and Betty Thompson; brothers Robert Leo Thompson and John L. Thompson; sisters Arleen Thompson and Louise (Thompson) Bradley; uncle Richard Wheelock; aunt Leola Swinney.
Lorrine is survived by sons  Bill Donovan and wife of Lakeview, Steven Donovan and wife of Portland and Robert J. Thompson of Lakeview; daughter Becky Cowdrey of Lakeview; sister Lucille Denton of Lakeview; best friend Barb; Special nephew Adam; 14 Grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and eight cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Lakeview Eagle’s Lodge, followed by a pot luck lunch. Interment will be in the Sunset Park Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Lorrine may be made to Desert Rose Funeral Chapel (to help defray the costs of the funeral), 1705 N. 4th St., Lakeview  97630, the Library Building Fund, 513 Center St., Lakeview  97630 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Desert Rose Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
