Martha Elizabeth Madison, 89, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at her home in Ashland.
Martha Elizabeth Harris was born in Lakeview on Jan. 24, 1924. She was the youngest of seven children.
From her first marriage three children were born. Wayne Miller, Catherine Miller, and Larry Miller. She had one son Ed Madison from her second marriage.
She and her husband Gene Madison were missionaries in the Philippines for several years. They started a church, built a chapel and a personal residence. The work was progressing until her husband decided to take a different path.
She came back to Los Angeles, Calif. and got a job in personnel for Petis Security until she retired 1991. She moved to Ashland to be near her mother and sister.
Her son Wayne came to live with and care for her. Her daughter Catherine followed in her footsteps and is a missionary in Tanzania, Africa.
She is survived by her children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her sister Norma Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Valley Bible Fellowship in Talent.
