Mary L. Watts, 84, died suddenly at the Lake District Hospital Friday, May 3, 2013.
Mary was born Nov. 27, 1928 in Wheeling, W.V. to George and Carrie (Salters) Burdette.
She was raised and educated in Inglewood, Calif. where she graduated from high school. She served her country in the US Navy from l950-52 during the Korean Conflict.
She was married to Herb Watts in Atlantic City, N.J. March 15, 1952. She had been a member of the Lutheran Church in Los Alamitos, Calif.
The couple came to New Pine Creek in 1970. Mary worked as a nurses aide at the Lake District Hospital in the maternity ward. She was very efficient and proud of her work.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister.
Survivors include her husband Herb of New Pine Creek; son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Terry Watts of Susanville, Calif.; son Warren Watts of Lakeview; daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Gordon Lightle of Lakeview and Diane and Rob Wilson of Goldendale, Wash.;13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at the Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Layne Clifton VFW Post 4070 participated in the services. A potluck luncheon followed at the Eagle’s Lodge. Private interment took place at the family plot at the New Pine Creek Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Robert Wells, Andy Curnow, John Sutfin, Steve Lightle, Gordon Lightle, Ryan Lightle and Tom Lightle.

Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel had charge of the arrangements.
