National Rural Health Day is Thurs., Nov. 21

A local event will celebrate National Rural Health Day on Thursday, Nov. 21, in the conference room at Lake District Hospital.

The event, which begins at 2 p.m., will be hosted by the Lake County Community Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), local public officials with the Town of Lakeview and Lake County, the Oregon Office of Rural Health, Lake County Food Share, varied community partners and Lake Health District officials and leaders.

National Rural Health Day commenced in 2011 as a means of increasing awareness of health care issues faced by rural citizens, according to a press release.
