Neil Eugene Perry

Neil Eugene Perry, 76, died at his home on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.
Neil was born to Franklin and Corda (Robnett) Perry in Lakeview on Aug. 18, 1934. He grew up on the family ranch south of New Pine Creek.
He received his elementary education at the State Line School and went on to graduate from Modoc High School in 1952. He then attended Shasta College and was a proud member of the first Shasta College championship football team. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
On Oct. 29, 1956 he and Margaret Stewart were married in Reno, Nev.
Most of Neil’s working years were spent in the lumber industry. He retired from Fremont Sawmill in 1995. Since retiring he enjoyed helping run the family ranch.
Neil was a true sports enthusiast, so it was natural for him to get involved as a coach with little league, which he did for a number of years.
His most enjoyable forms of recreation were hunting and fishing and being an active member of the Lakeview Bowmen’s Club.
He was preceded in death by son Steven Neil Perry.
He is survived by son Scott Perry of Lakeview; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Kory Stribling of Springfield and Stacey and Dave Huscher of Phoenix Ariz; brother Norman Perry of New Pine Creek; sister and brother-in-law Leeta and Harvey Hayes of Wadsworth Nev.; sister Linda Perry of Lakeview; grandchildren Tiffany Paull, Brannon Stribling, Bret Stribling and Dillon Huscher; Numerous nieces and nephews; constant companion and pet, his dog Buster Brown.
A memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church of Goose Lake Valley in New Pine Creek on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Inurnment was in the New Pine Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by the Lakeview Layne Clifton V.F.W. Post 4070.

Services were under the direction of Desert Rose Funeral Chapel.
