A new addition to the Lake County Examiner’s office staff, Jennifer Antle recently assumed the reins as the newspaper’s full-time office manager.

Antle and her family are newcomers to Lake County, having arrived in Lakeview about two months ago.  A job transfer for her husband, Dan, brought them up to Oregon, as he works as a radio network technician for the U.S. Forest Service.

The couple and their two children, Saylor, 15, and Loagen, 12, relocated from Yuma, Ariz., where Dan retired from the U.S. Marines.  Jennifer previously worked as a paralegal, and the family made the move after five years in the southwest.

As the Examiner office’s lead of internal affairs, in a manner of speaking, Antle will oversee a number of duties related to the newspaper’s overall operations.  Along with review and compiling varied financial reports, she will track advertising inches, oversee obituaries and legal notices and also head up the circulation end of the newspaper.

Advertisement placement, commonly known as ‘dummying’ in the newspaper game, will also fall within Antle’s realm.

Antle earned an associate’s degree in paralegal science from Kaplan University.

Whereas previously her duties included bankruptcy schedules, federal codes and legalities, most of what she does for the Examiner pertains to accounting-based activities.

“I’m always learning new things, which is a plus for me,” she said.

Antle officially joined the staff about three weeks ago, and is continually learning the ropes, as she noted there’s definitely a learning curve to the job.

“I’m excited to have Jen on staff. She’s friendly, bright and always has a smile,” said G.M. Tillie Flynn

Both Antle and her husband plan on becoming more involved within the local community.  Dan is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4070, and she is a member of the ladies’ auxiliary.

Daughter Saylor is a sophomore at Lakeview High School and a member of Lakeview’s FFA organization.  Loagen, a seventh grader is active in the local wrestling club.

For more information, call the Examiner at 541-947-3378.
