New term of classes set to come to ILC

Lakeview’s Innovation and Learning Center will begin its second term of college courses offered in partnership with Klamath Community College.  The courses will feature the same set of three types of course options as the previous term – synchronous, online and live.

Thus, not only are many purely online courses to be offered again through the campus, but a new set of synchronous and live-instruction courses will also be made available.

For pre-nursing students, a synchronous Biology 232 course is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:20 p.m., with additional labs.  This is the second Anatomy and Physiology course in a series that many medical degrees require.

In addition to the pre-nursing course, there are a variety of synchronous general education classes that will be offered next term and two live courses.

Art 205, History of Western Art beginning in 500 B.C. will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m., with History 202, United States History II, from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m. on the same days.

Math 70, Elementary Algebra, is scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 1:50 p.m.  Math 95, Intermediate Algebra, will run the same days of the week from 9:00 to 9:50 a.m.

Speech 111 will also be offered, currently scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m.

Two live courses will be offered, taught by Dr. Emma Cornell and Loni Chavez.  Cornell will teach Writing 122, English Composition II on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 3:20 p.m.  Chavez is scheduled to teach Sociology 204, Sociology in Everyday Life, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:20 p.m.

Schedules are not final, and are subject to change.  Contact Christy Tveit at 541-947-6663 or by email at tveit@klamathcc.edu for more information.
