Nisha Hadley

Nisha Hadley, 96, passed away at home in Pendleton, on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013.
Nisha was a long-time resident of Bly before moving to Pendleton in 2000 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jerry Dillavou.
Vernetia Maria “Nisha” and her twin sister Vernita Marice “Nita” were born in Paisley on Sept. 7, 1917 to Frederick L. and Della May Bevel Bannister. Nisha grew up in Paisley along with her three sisters and three brothers.
In 1934 she married Herbert Hadley. They were married in Paisley where they resided during their early years. Their two children, Darlene and Rodney “Butch” were born while they lived in Paisley.
Herb worked as a fire watch at a lookout station and Nisha and the children lived with him at the station during fire seasons. The Hadleys moved to Bly in 1940 where Herb was employed at the US Forest Service as the Fire Control Officer for 39 years until his retirement. Nisha worked at Protsmans Store and later the Sycan store until she accepted the position of Bly Postmaster. She was Postmaster for 25 years. Nisha and Herb had been married for 58 years at the time of his death in 1992.
She was well known and active in the Bly community and a faithful member of the Bly Christian Missionary Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; brothers, Joe, Norman and Fint Bannister and sisters, Clara Pauck, Nita Pollock, and Ethel Elder-Fairchild.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rodney “Butch” and Leeanna; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jerry Dillavou; grandchildren, David (Denise) Hadley, Rod (Beth) Hadley, Teyna Hadley Longacre, Gary (Linda) Dillavou; great-grandchildren, Nick and Sam Hadley, Ashley (Hadley) Cleland, Bradley, Brandon, Lacey, Lane and Katie Hadley, Mandy, Chad and Casey Longacre; and eleven great-great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and special nephew Ted Pauck.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eternal Hills Chapel in Klamath Falls.
