No shortage of inventory for 2013 Lions Auction

No shortage of inventory for 2013 Lions Auction

This year’s auction block is looking just a wee bit thicker than past years.

Lakeview’s Lions Club brings their annual auction event to the community forefront on Saturday, May 4, at the Lake County Fairgrounds.  Items will be available for viewing at 8 a.m., with the auction starting at 10 a.m.

Club members busily transported their inventory of donated items from multiple storage facilities on Saturday, April 27, to the Lake County Fairgrounds.  Trailer load after trailer load of furniture, house wares, electronics, exercise equipment, sporting goods, lawn and garden equipment and, well, tons of miscellany found their way into the exhibition halls that day.

Proceeds from the event benefit local community projects.

Several of the club members affirmed that donations are up in overall numbers from previous years, helping to ensure another successful event for the club.

Among the highlighted items that will find a new owner is a 1989 Dodge Shelby sedan.

This unique vehicle features a five-speed transportation and turbocharged engine, as well as serves as a namesake of the late famed automotive performance guru Carroll Shelby.

Lakeview Auto Repair donated the labor while the Lions supplied the parts associated with reviving the fuel system of this unique car.

Plenty of edibles will be available at the auction event, starting with coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and gravy and sausage patties in the early morning hours.  For lunch, there will be burgers, cheeseburgers, chili burgers, hot dogs and chili dogs available.
