SOME OF MY EARLIEST MEMORIES INCLUDE PICKING AND SACKING POTATOES FROM THE POTATO FIELDS OF THE NEW IDAHO DISTRICT.
NORMA WAS THE ACKNOWLEDGED POTATO PICKING CHAMPION AS THE CREW WENT FROM FARM TO FARM UNTIL THE HARVEST WAS OVER. THE LAST TIME I SAW NORMA WAS WHEN I RAN INTO FRANK AND NORMA ON MY LUNCH HOUR IN A GROCERY STORE IN MEDFORD. DURING ALL OF THOSE YEARS, ABOUT 60, SHE WAS ALWAYS FRIENDLY, CHEERFUL AND PLEASANT. AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT WE ALL SHOULD STRIVE TO BE. I FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN HER.
