North Lake Cowboys face bad prospects

The North Lake football team lost their last Friday, Oct. 11 home game to Prospect 20 points to 48.  North Lake coach Joe Reid said he is seeing improvement in the North Lake defense, but the group gave up too many big plays against the Prospect boys.

Matt Henkel and Tristan Grassman led the Cowboys with tackles on defense, with Daniel Libolt making a fumble recovery.  Cameron McCord had 196 rushing yards on 26 carries with 1 touchdown and gained 25 yards receiving.  McCord also had a passing touchdown and two interceptions with 72 yards passing.

Nathan Gilbert had 43 yards rushing with 1 touchdown on 11 carries.  Gilbert went one for one passing for 25 yards.  Ethan Murphy had 62 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Daniel Libolt had 16 yards rushing on 4 carries.

“The defense just has to focus on not giving up the big plays,” said Reid, “They did a good job of recognizing the different formations that Prospect would come out in, but they just gave up too many big plays to their spread offense.”
