The North Lake School volleyball team faced off against another familiar team on Tuesday, Sept. 17, playing Paisley girls at the Paisley gymnasium.
Though North Lake succeeded in winning that game, they went on to lose to Triad in an away game on Friday, Sept. 20, and lost in a tournament to a team from South Wasco County at their South Wasco tourney in Maupin.
Their coach, Dan Ward, complimented the Paisley team, saying they were pretty solid, and a very scrappy team.
Unfortunately, Ward said Friday’s game didn’t go very well, and said of his team,
“We’re still struggling to find ourselves, to find team chemistry. The girls aren’t playing to their potential.”
Triad beat the varsity team in three games, scoring 25 to 17 in the first, 25 to 8 in the second, and 25 to North Lake’s 21 in the third.
Ward said, “You’ll see the team they could be play every once in a while. I can see the potential they have, but I can’t bring it out of them yet.”
The South Wasco team was the only one that North Lake played in the tournament after losing their pool games.
Wasco beat North Lake with scores of 25-17 and 25-16 for their best-of-three tournament games.
