Lake County’s OHA Chapter will have its Annual Youth Day on Saturday, June 29.
Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m., with events running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youth Day will take place at the Cottonwood Organizational Camp at Upper Cottonwood Lake.
There will be general courses that range from one hour each, and of which parents and guardians are encouraged to participate.
Those include archery, live fire 22, first aid survival, and general hunter safety.
For kids aged 12 to 17, there will be half-day courses ranging from 2 hours each and with no hunter safety required.
Those include live fire 22 competition with a prize awarded for the best score, and archery competition with both compound and re-curve bows with a prize awarded for the best score in each category.
Students not wishing to participate in those courses are welcome to participate in the general courses.
Lunch will be free for participants.
Rules for Youth Day are as follows: closed-toe shoes, adult supervision required, and eye and ear protection is necessary, but will also be provided.
Participants are asked to pre-register by June 19. For registration information, contact Marla Slay at 541-417-0042.
