OOHS to host Walk for the Animals and More event

OOHS to host  Walk for the Animals and More event

Oregon Outback Humane Society will host its Walk for the Animals and More event on Saturday, June 29, at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Registration will be held at 9 a.m., with a run/walk event set to start at 10 a.m. The registration for the event is $10 per individual or $30 for a family of three or more, which includes participation in the walk, contests, demonstrations and a goody bag (while supplies last).

Pre-registration will be held on Saturday, June 22, at the Lake County Public Library from noon to 4 p.m. as well as Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday, June 26, at Tnet Broadband Internet, LLC located at 629 Center St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will feature a full spectrum of fun activities, demonstrations and contests for folks and their furry little family members.

On the roster is a Friends for Life Dog Training first aid and nose work demonstration, a treiball demonstration by PAWSitive Solutions, a flyball team demonstration by Boondog Saints.

Other fun activities will include a Cutest Cat photo contest, Best Trick, Fastest Small Dog, a silent auction and music by the Uketopian Society.

Photos for the Cutest Cat contest can be printed off and brought to the event for entry, or e-mailed to the OOHS.

There will also be a silent auction for a number of items, including loding at Summer Lake Hot Springs, a hot air balloon ride for two, varied pet supplies, golfing at LakeRidge Golf Course, a discounted membership with Affordable Fitness, home décor by Wood Quest and more.

Hot dogs will be available for purchase.  Patrons are recommended to bring lawn chairs for their own comfort during the event.

All proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Oregon Outback Humane Society’s continued efforts to help the animals of Lake County.  All funds raised stays local to the community.

Participation is welcome by all, and patrons do not need to bring a dog to walk or participate.
