It’s time to start preparing for the Outback Outhouse Dash. The event is part of the annual Lake
County Chamber Irish Days and will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 1:30 p.m. downtown Lakeview.
Luann Anderson and Tillie Flynn are co-chairmen of the event. The Lake County Examiner is once again sponsoring the event with cash prizes.
First place winner will receive $100 cash, second place $75 and a “Best of Show” chosen by the Examiner staff will receive $50 cash. Last year the Pardue Construction entry took first place as well as the Best of Show.
Rules of the runs and the outhouse requirements are available at the Lake County Examiner, 739 N. 2nd St. or at the Chamber of Commerce.
All interested parties are asked to sign up by noon on Thursday, March 13 so the races can be organized. To sign up folks can email Anderson at Luann.firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Flynn at the Examiner, 541 947-3378.
There is a $10 entry fee that goes to the Chamber to help with Irish Days’ expense. This needs to be paid prior to racing.
All team members under 18 years of age must have a signed parent wavier. All team members must sign a Release of Liability as well.
Friday night at the Irish Days dinner, which will be held at the Elks Lodge this year, the participating teams will be auctioned off in a calcutta. This gives the public a chance to join in the fun. The pot is split among first, second and third place buyers. Mark your calendars! Irish Days is almost here!
