Paisley track starts 2013 season strong

Paisley’s Bronco harriers kicked off their spring 2013 track and field season with a strong start at the March 22 Diane Thurmond Invitational, held in Harper.

For the women, some of the highlights included second-place finish in the 4×400-meter relay event by the team of Tess O’Leary, Priscilla Norris, Julia O’Leary and Krysta Colahan with a time of 4:36.39.

“They posted the fastest time in the state for 1A,” said head coach Mark Douglas.

O’Leary additionally took third in the 800-meter (2:42.72), and second in the pole vault (8 feet even), while Julia O’Leary took fifth in the latter event (6’6”).

“She competed very well,” Douglas said.

Colahan placed second in the triple jump, with a 31’0.5” effort, as well as eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (21.27).

Norris placed third in the 200-meter (30.99), while Jessica Arrington placed seventh (33.97) as well as fourth in the javelin (84’04”).

The women’s team finished sixth overall with a team score of 54 points.
