Patrick “Len” Murphy, 57, of Paisley, died on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at Partners in Care Hospice Center in Bend.
Len was born Dec. 9, 1952 to Edward and Dorothy (Parnell) Murphy in Lakeview.
He was a life-long resident of Paisley, graduated from Paisley High School, served in the United States Army, and was attending Central Oregon Community College when he was diagnosed with Lupus. From a young age his love of fixing or building things, whether on the family ranch or in the community, was evident to all. Anytime anyone had a project (mechanical or building), he would jump in to help and loved every minute of it.
He will be missed by his surviving family; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Jennifer Potter, of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law Kristie and Dee Woodruff of Jeffersonville, Ohio; parents Edward and Dorothy Murphy, of Paisley; brother and sister-in-law Martin and Jan Murphy of Paisley; sister and brother-in-law Noreen and Dan Shoun of Paisley; sister Theresa Vickerman of Paisley; grandson Brayden, of Phoenix, Ariz.; granddaughters Shareen, Lauryn and Kristyn of Jeffersonville, Ohio; nephews and spouses Steve and Gyleen Vickerman of Paisley, Bret and Nikki Vickerman of Alturas, Calif., Derek Shoun currently in Afghanistan with the US Army and Brady Murphy of Paisley; nieces and spouses Cindy and Mike Merkley of Fallon, Nev., Staci Rogers of Lakeview, Kelli and Duke Sanchez of Albany, Shanna and Cleve Anseth of Paisley, and Liana and Ronnie Sieben, of Klamath Falls; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Paisley on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. Rosary was said before the Mass. Burial followed at the Paisley IOOF Cemetery.
In his memory, donations may be made to the Paisley Disaster Unit or a charity of the donor’s choice.
