A recertification course for those interested in attaining or retaining their eligibility as applicators of pesticides will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Lake County OSU Extension Office, located at 103 N. E St.
The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Snacks and lunch will be provided.
The itinerary includes proper pesticide label interpretation, a dissection of what varied parts of the label mean, pesticide toxicity, safety, storage, transportation and disposal.
Mike Crumrine, with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, will discuss the types of weeds that can be sprayed during the fall season and the related herbicides that are most effective.
Wilbur Ellis representative Brent Radford will talk about weed control specific to Lake County in range and pasture, noting what products to use, proper timing and safety measures, wrapping up with an overview on proper spray equipment calibration.
