Egan County Park in Plush will be the hot spot come Saturday, July 12, when the first annual Sunstone Festival takes place, with proceeds benefitting the Schminck Memorial Museum in Lakeview.
Starting at 10 a.m. and running until 5 p.m., the park will be packed with food, fun, and festivities for all ages. Organized by Oregon Outback Mining Co., the event will include an all-you-can-eat spaghetti feed at the Hart Mountain Store, a John Wayne look-a-like contest, a silent auction, and live music provided by Rusty Rayles and the Rounders. Multiple vendors will be on site providing food, wine, jewelry and more.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend and join in the fun in celebrating the iconic sunstone gem, the official Oregon state rock found primarily in the Plush area.
Donations for the silent auction are gladly accepted, with the proceeds going towards repairs to the Schminck Museum.
Egan County Park is located at the intersection of Plush Cutoff Road and Hogback Road in Plush.
