Two days of drag racing action drew in some two dozen or so drivers from throughout the region on Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6.
Sunday’s race featured a Summit ET points race in addition to the annual Firecracker Cash Bash money race.
The money race was held last on Sunday, closing out the racing action for the weekend.
Set against a ‘pro’ tree, this race brought together all interested racers, rather than breaking down competitors into the three traditional categories of Sportsman, Pro and Super Pro.
The finals of the cash race saw Lakeview’s Dusty Hahn take home the top prize of $500, defeating Central Point’s Jon Ruff. Hahn’s green Plymouth Arrow ran a 7.490 on a 7.42 dial-in at 94.79 miles per hour, while Ruff ran an 8.062 on an 8.08 dial-in at 96.43 miles per hour in his first-generation Camaro, earning a $250 runner-up cash purse.
