Rebecca K. Lee

Rebecca K. Lee, 60, died at her Lakeview home on Tuesday Jan. 17, 2012.
She was born Aug. 6, 1951 in Lakeview to Lugusta and Wanda (Manous) Lee.
Known to many as Becky, she spent most of her life in Lake County.  She attended school in Lakeview and graduated with honors.  She participated in many school activities and continued her passions throughout her adult life.  She was a member of the National Humane society, an avid member of the Pittsburg Penguin booster club, Modoc County Cowbelles and the Willow Ranch Fire Dept. Auxiliary, a supporter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and in 1990 was a member of the Modoc County Grand Jury.
Becky enjoyed being barefoot in her garden, with  dirt under her nails and her long brown hair tied back.  She taught canning and gardening to local children as a 4-H leader. She competed in many county fairs and received numerous trophies, sweepstakes and ribbons.
Becky was fascinated by astrology dreams, psychology and all of the theories of humanity. She liked to read and never gave up on the American Novel.  She loved sports! Stock car racing, hockey, football and baseball.
Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; brother Doug Lee.
Becky is survived by her son Douglas Cates of Grand Junction, Colo.;daughter Heidi Thompson-Espinosa of Medford; brothers and sisters- in –law Ron and Thelma Cox of Klamath Falls, Roger and Miste Cox of Lakeview;  sister Patty Frank of Carson City, Nev.;  sister and brother-in-law Mary and  Gary Buckland of Lakeview; grandchildren, Noah, Abigail, Hannah and Hunter;aunt Sandra and Ron Qualls; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at the Western Villa Recreation Center on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. A potluck luncheon will follow the services at the Rec. Center.
The interment will  be private at the Willow Ranch Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Becky may be made to the Humane Society in Lakeview or to the Lake County Library Building Fund, 513 Center St. Lakeview 97630.
Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel has charge off the arrangements.
