Recipes sought for Season’s Eatings guide

October 16, 2013 by

If there’s anything better than good eats, it’s the opportunities to win prizes sweet.

The Examiner is seeking recipe submissions for its 2013/14 recipe guide, “Season’s Eatings,” which will feature a huge selection of contributions from Lake County culinary artists.

It is no secret that the region abounds with a variety of talented kitchen artists extraordinaire, and we are seeking submissions for everything ranging from entrees to desserts and appetizers and drinks for this year’s edition.

Submissions are due by Friday, Oct. 25.

For an added incentive, every recipe submission will be entered into a drawing for varied prizes.  Among these prizes is a $50 gift certificate redeemable at a Lakeview merchant of the winner’s choice (sponsored by the Examiner), a $35 gift card for Howard’s Drugs, a Pumpkin Print Flour Sack Towel and Ceramic Pumpkin Candle from Bloomer’s Country Nursery, a Harvest Thyme candle from Woodquest, a $25 gift card for The 39er Variety Store, a bubble glass margarita pitcher and two glasses a $50 value from The Niche Boutique, a $25 gift basket from Lakeview Lockers and a Thanksgiving bouquet from A Country Home Floral.

This marks the third year the Examiner has put together the recipe guide as a special holiday edition, and the fourth year overall for this tasty edition.

“We wanted to provide a fun incentive for participants this year,” said the Examiner’s Gen. Mgr. Tillie Flynn.  “We encourage everyone to submit their recipes for a chance at some great prizes, as well as an opportunity to share their recipes with others.”

For more information, contact the Examiner, located at 739 N. 2nd St., at 541-947-3378.
