Richard B. (R.B.) Cave, 76, died Tuesday Nov. 10, 2009 in Lakeview.
R.B. was born March 3, 1933 in Billings, Mont. He was raised in Colorado and later became a resident of California and Oregon. Although he was a painter by trade he later returned to his love of ranching.
R.B. loved his family, friends, animals, his dog Sierra, poetry, books, exploring the west, his blue Chevy stepside and his job at the Lakeview Ranger District. He was a proud member of the NRA and lived life on his own terms. Anyone that knew R.B. knows what a unique man he was and he will be deeply missed by all that loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Richard J. Cave; brother John Cave.
He is survived by his son Kevin Cave of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters Marie Koller of Boise, Idaho, Toni Merrell of Lincoln, Calif., Jeanette Cave of Lakeview and Tevis B. Cave of Klamath Falls; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; special friends Dave and Kathy Knowles, Frankie and Johnnie Manibusan and friends at the Lakeview Ranger District.
A gathering to be announced will be held in the spring of 2010 to celebrate his life.
The March winds will forever whisper his name.
