Rose Hoellwarth, 90, died at the Lake District Long Term Care Facility on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.
Rose was born in Roseburg on May 9, 1921. She grew up on the Vinyard ranch near Adel and attended elementary school in Adel and graduated from Lakeview High School. She then attended nursing school in Portland before returning to Lakeview.
She Married Charles Cleland and they made their home on the Westside. She was later married to Orlyn Hoellwarth in November 1973 and settled down on their Westside ranch. She moved into town in 1995.
Rose worked as a nurse at the Lakeview Hospital for 24 years and then served as the treasurer for Lake County until she retired in 1990 after 26 years of service.
She enjoyed various kinds of needlework and gardening until her health no longer permitted it.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother; three sisters.
She is survived by sons Dave Cleland of Orange County, Calif. and James Cleland of Lakeview; daughters Jennie Compton of Lakeview, Lucille Marcus of Klamath Falls; Jackie Ortwein of Lakeview and Debbie Davis of Redmond; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at the Westside Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2011.

Desert Rose Funeral Chapel had charge of the arrangements.
