After completing all the stops on the established tour, participants may just live up to the event’s name.
Now in its second year, the Irish Days Pub Crawl has seen a considerable jump in growth, according to coordinator Stacy Phillips.
Last year’s event marked the inaugural running of the new addition to the Irish Days festivities, with a total of 25 participants.
“It’s about quadruple what it was last year,” Phillips said. “It’s become a lot bigger than I anticipated.”
Participation for this year’s Pub Crawl was estimated at 70 or more registered entrants, and growing, she said.
Phillips said the social aspect of the event is a prime reason for its rapid jump in popularity.
“It’s a pretty diverse group,” she said. “It’ not just any one age.”
Though, of course it is self-explanatory that participants must be of legal drinking age, which is 21 years and older.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 16, and features stops at a number of local establishments. For the $25 entry fee, participants will receive a t-shirt commemorating the event as well as one drink at the participating businesses.
