Members of Lakeview High School’s 2014 senior class are offering their services on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 23 and 24 as part of fundraising for next year. This weekend, ‘Seniors for Hire’ will be available for odd jobs around the community. Members of the class said they were willing to do virtually anything, and can be contacted through Jill Harlan at 541-417-1981.
The senior class plans on having a ‘Safe and Sober’ 2014 Grad Night, with the traditional all-nighter held at the Elks Lodge and a trip to follow.
Each senior student this year is paying $100 of their own money toward the all-night party and trip, but will also be participating in other fundraisers, such as selling tickets for a 32-inch flatscreen TV. Seniors will be selling the tickets individually for $5 a ticket, with a limit of 200 tickets to be sold in all.
The drawing for the winner of the television will take place on Dec. 10 at the first LHS home basketball game. Senior class members sold pies as an earlier fundraiser, which will be available for pick up at the Lakeview First Baptist Church, 910 N. 2nd St., Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. Their next fundraising effort will be selling holiday centerpieces made with greenery and candles at the Holiday Fair on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7.
