Shirley Ann Schaer, 91, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at her Lakeview home following a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born Oct. 2, 1922 in Butte, Mont. to Martin and Bertha (Copeland) Nye. She traveled with her family as a young child and was raised and graduated from high school in Coquille in 1940.
She was married to Ted Schaer in Coquille on April 3, 1942. The couple came to Lakeview in 1949 where they owned and operated Schaer Machine and Welding until selling the business and semi retiring in 1979. Ted worked for Carl Lang Motors prior to establishing the machine shop.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Jean and her daughter Pamela Schaer and her son David T. Schaer.
Survivors include her husband Ted along with nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family public services will not be held.
Contributions in memory of Mrs. Schaer may be made to Lakeview Home Health & Hospice 700 S. J St. or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
