A fundraiser event for the Lake County Fair Board in the form of a garage sale will be held on Saturday, March 30, inside exhibit hall 1 at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
Locals are encouraged to take the opportunity to do a little spring cleaning and bring out some of their excess items for the potential to make a sale or two. A six-by-eight-foot section is priced at $10, with proceeds raised during the day benefitting the Lake County Fair Board.
“We’re trying to get more public usage out of the fairgrounds,” said Fairgrounds Mgr. Don Moore, “and it’s more of a community event.”
Moore said delayed promotion last year led to limited turnout, but the indications this year all point to more interest in participation.
“I really think it’s a good event to bring people of all walks of life together,” he said.
Sellers are encouraged to bring out virtually and all types of garage sale-type items, ranging from tools to art work and clothing (homemade or pre-worn), but weapons or anything warranted as illegal are barred from the event.
Moore said that the more variety, the better the event.
