Their second league game of the year against St. Mary’s team brought the LHS girl’s basketball team to 1-1 in league play and 7-6 overall with a win earlier in the week against Chiloquin.
Lakeview’s girl’s varsity played Chiloquin on Tuesday, Jan. 14, scoring 47-33, losing on Friday, Jan. 17, to St. Mary’s 39-67.
An early Lakeview lead kept the small comeback by Chiloquin in the fourth quarter from evening the score. The Lady Honkers stayed on top for the first three quarters, eventually coming out well on top with a 14-point lead.
Amanda Arcularius was the high-scorer of the crew for that particular game, making the most of 12 free throw opportunities by sinking seven and making two 3-point field goals as well.
In their game against St. Mary’s, the Lakeview girls were lead by in scoring by Delaney Hall, who made 20 out of their 39 points.
In a reversal of fortunes, the St. Mary’s team dominated the scoreboard in the early three quarters of the game, keeping in the high teens. Weak first and second quarter scores kept Lakeview out of the running for the win.
The girls will have the chance at a few home games this next week, playing Lost River on Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Cascade Christian on Friday, Jan. 24. Both varsity games are at 7 p.m., and offer one of the few opportunities to watch the girls this season for local fans who cannot travel to see the team play elsewhere.
