Steven Randy Ingledew

Steven Randy Ingledew, 68, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford after several courageous battles against cancer.
Steve was born Oct. 1, 1943 to Paul and Faye Ingledew in La Jolla, Calif.
Steve spent his first 34 years in California. He loved the ocean and was an enthusiastic surfer.
He married Danielle Zelinka on March 15, 1963.
The Ingledews moved to Lakeview in 1977. The Ingledew children graduated from Lakeview High School. Steve worked as a builder in Lakeview for a number of years before becoming the Silver Lake route mail carrier. After a back injury, Steve had the opportunity to earn his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University with honors and a master’s degree of Science and Education from Concordia University, Wisconsin.
Steve’s true gift was counseling military veterans. He was a Navy corpsman who served with the Marines in Vietnam as a combat medic from 1965-1966.
Steve was forced to retire from the Vet Center in Annapolis, M.D due to his illness.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying bicycling and tennis. He loved his years living in Lakeview and the friends he made. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. Steve loved his Lord and was always willing to share the Gospel.
He is survived by his wife Danielle of Talent; father Paul; sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Terri (Prestwood) Ingledew of Medford and Paul and Deb (Swingle) Ingledew of Medford; daughters and sons-in-law Carey and Tony Briggs of San Diego, Calif. and Ali and Rick Devos of Vancouver, Wash.; beloved sister Paula Holbrook of Hilo, Hawaii; grandsons Dylan, Sam, Tim and Andrew; granddaughters Ashley, Kelly, Olivia, Taylor, Abigail, Emily Laurel and Jordyn.
Services were held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery with full Marine Corp Honors.
