Valentine’s Day isn’t just an occasion for candy and flowers, for the Friends of the Lake County Library District and the Lake County Public Library main Lakeview branch are soon offering up some sweet deals on Feb. 14 and 15.
A two-for-one deal on items of equal value is in effect as part of the Friends’ Sweetheart Sale, which will be held in the Re-Read Room used bookstore at 512 Center St.
A surplus sale will be held at the former library location in the Lake County Courthouse, featuring varied items such as furniture, desks, chairs and more for a reasonable price.
Library staff identified furniture for re-use in the new library building or in other branches, with remaining items to be sold off to the general public.
All purchased items must be picked up by 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Re-Read Room bookstore, normally open on Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m., will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13, in preparation for the sale.
The Friends organization is working to reduce its inventory prior to its move to its new location inside the new library building.
Hours will be expanded at that time to match those of the library: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
