Tree of Joy tags now available locally

Those interested in purchasing gifts for the annual Tree of Joy program may now obtain ornamental tags from a number of local locations.

Tree of Joy trees feature ornaments with Christmas gift requests for children in need, which are then purchased and delivered by the program’s local coordinator, the Lakeview Rotary Club.

Trees are currently set up or will be this week at:

•Sterling Bank, 1 S. E St.; 541-947-2173;

•Washington Federal Savings, 125 N. E St.; 541-947-3200;

•U.S. Bank, 518 N. 1st; 541-947-3317;

•Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union, 123 N. G St., 541-947-4034;

•Lakeview Interagency Office, 1301 S. G St., 541-947-2151;

Gifts are due back under the respective trees from which the tags were removed by Wednesday, Dec. 11, so the Rotary club members may have ample time to purchase those gifts as well as for those that had not been pulled from the trees, said Kristen Wells, the local coordinator for the program.

Gifts are asked to be returned with wrapping paper to afford the parents the experience of wrapping the gifts for their children.

Gift pick-up will be on Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Faith Center Foursquare church, located at 324 N. M St., from 1 to 2 p.m.

For more information, contact Kristen Wells at 541-947-3019 or Andrew Rucker at 541-947-2121.
