UNiTE to End Violence Against Women

February 19, 2014 by

“Orange Day” is observed around the world on the 25th of every month to commemorate the United Nations’ campaign to end violence against women and girls. The Lake County Crisis Center is bringing Orange Day to Lakeview.

We are asking people to wear or display something orange in support of the effort to put an end to domestic violence everywhere. We are inviting you to take a picture of your orange and post it to our Facebook page.

This can be a fun event and something we can look forward to on the 25th of every month.

Domestic violence is something that needs to come out of the shadows where it lurks. Perpetrators need to be held accountable for their actions. Victims must not be blamed but supported and encouraged to become strong survivors. Thank you for your support.
