Warren Galen Conger, 77, passed away of complications related to heart surgery on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Warren was born in Sand Springs, Okla. on April 10, 1936 to Elvis and Lucille Conger. The family eventually moved to Chester, Calif. where Warren graduated from Chester High School in 1954. It was during his senior year that he met Ora Kennedy from the neighboring town of Westwood. They married in August of 1954. For many years they made their life in Redding, Calif., where all of their children were born. The family moved to Lakeview in 1970 where Warren and Ora have resided for the past 43 years.
Warren was a hardworking man who spent his life taking care of his family. He had many different careers over his lifetime; he worked for an airline, ran a retail milk route, farmed and ranched, worked in a mill, drove log truck, and long haul freight truck cross country. He even ran a pizza joint for a couple of years. When he finally retired, Warren enjoyed being a snowbird and spending his winter months in Arizona where he could enjoy his favorite pastime: golfing.
Warren is preceded in death by his father Elvis Conger; son Jeffery Conger; daughter Rebecca Conger; sister Celia Conger; and grandchildren Jennifer Conger, Pamela Klein and Marcus Conger.
Warren is survived by his wife Ora; mother Lucille Conger Dameron; sons Brian Conger, Ken Conger; daughter Dawnella Riley; daughter and son-in-law Angie and Rocky Soder; grandchildren Melissa Conger, Robert Conger, Joseph Klein, Jordanna Conger, Briana Dolan, Lacey Conger, Colton Conger, Ethan Conger Joshua Conger, Brandon Riley, Justin Riley, Mariah Riley, Ryan Yates, Amanda Yates, Katy Yates; great grandchildren Gavin Vaughn, Olivia and Kylee Klein, Destiny Rowell, Thomas Dolan, Denyiel Dolan, Catalina Dolan, Dillon Riley, Emma Riley and Abel Riley.
A graveside service will be held at the Westside Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. A reception/luncheon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will follow the Graveside Service.
